1940‘s WAVES Women‘s Naval Reserve Lighter Weight Peacoat. United States Naval Reserve (Women‘s Reserve), better known as the WAVES (for Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service), was the women‘s branch of the United States Naval Reserve during World War II. This set and others were worn by Helen M. Overly, her name stitched in the waistband and her picture is included in the picture above. This is a lighter more fall like Peacoat. It is missing the original belt to it unfortunately. Includes two front pockets but left front button has a hole that‘ll need repaired. Has heavyweight warm lining then a more vest like lining for the arms. Bottom hem of cost has some loose seams that‘ll need some TLC. Under left arm there is two stitches that I think are for some sort of slight repair on inside as I felt inside the coat, felt like a popped seam but not on the outside of coat. Hole on right side of middle bottom sleeve where a button once was. Some fraying, pulling at back right dart. Some sort of paint or something on the inside right back dart fold, I‘ll include a photo. This is all the wear that inspected but please be aware this is a vintage garment over 80 years old. Measurements: I measured shoulder to shoulder since seam is far below the usual, measures to about 17"". 40"" Bust, 36"" Waist, 41"" Hip, 40.5"" Length,
