At House of Dow, we believe in uplifting and supporting the trans and LGBTQIA+ community in Toledo. Below is a curated list of trusted local organizations offering vital services, support groups, and care for transgender individuals and their families.

Equality Toledo

A local nonprofit providing a food pantry specifically for the LGBTQIA+ community — helping to meet basic needs with dignity and respect.

Solace Health & Wellness

Offers social nights and monthly support group meetings for trans teens, plus a dedicated support group for parents of trans youth.
Note: Pre-registration is required for group participation.

Toledo Area Transgender Support (TATS)

A welcoming support group for individuals aged 14 and older.
Meetings: Fourth Sunday of each month
Focus: Topics include coming out, legal name changes, workplace transition, and accessing supportive healthcare providers.

Safety Net Shelter

Operated by the Zepf Center, this shelter provides a safe, affirming space for transgender and gender non-conforming youth under 18 who have run away or are experiencing housing insecurity.

Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio

Provides gender-affirming care for adults (18+) based on informed consent. Services include hormone therapy, STI & HIV testing, cancer screenings, and primary care.
